Which Off-Page SEO Factors Really Make a Difference?

As someone who runs a website, you’re familiar with SEO. You understand that there are certain techniques and tactics that can take a webpage from the bottom of the barrel in terms of search rankings to the top. You’re probably aware that proper SEO is essential for being found on major search engines and that without it, growing an established online presence can be a challenge.
Now, think about your definition of SEO. Chances are, things like keyword optimization, meta-descriptions and even photo optimization are coming to mind. These are all wonderful, essential aspects of traditional SEO. They are also all considered to be on-page factors. Learn what off-page SEO is and about the tactics that really make a difference below.
What is Off-Page SEO?
Off-page SEO relates to all aspects of driving traffic back to your site that pertain to external factors – things that lie outside of your actual website. These include link building, social media, social bookmarking and other tactics that will be discussed shortly.

Off-page SEO is critical for rounding out on-page tactics. Off-page strategies can boost rankings, improve page rankings and garner additional exposure. All of this means more traffic and more potential for conversions in the long run.
A few off-page factors that really make a difference include:

Social Media Engagement
Your potential customers and clients aren’t a distant group of individuals that cannot be easily reached like they may have been just 10 years ago. Social media has changed the landscape. In fact, social media networks are designed to help individuals connect with other individuals and with brands like yours. Take advantage of it!
By building a social media presence – starting with the networks that your target market are most likely to frequent – you can offer opportunities for engagement that can’t be found elsewhere. While social media numbers and signals play an unknown role in page rankings, they play a definite role in online presence and brand appeal. As such, social networking opportunities to engage should be a major part of any off-page SEO strategy.
Local Search Optimization
Local search optimization is especially important for any business with an actual physical location, store or branch. The practice involves optimizing a website so that it is displayed according to the physical location of the searcher.
It’s nothing new, searches have been influenced by location for some time now using GPS and mobile technologies. While not new, it’s more important than ever. With a growing number of individuals looking to connect with local businesses and with technology that follows us everywhere, optimizing a site to show up in local searches is critical.
Look for local directories, register your site and business with Google Places and Bing and display your location prominently in social media profiles and other online locations for best results.
Building Business Reviews

Is there a better way to instill trust in your brand than to have positive reviews wherever you’re found online? Probably not. However, many marketers and business owners fail to see this as an off-page SEO optimization strategy. This should change; positive reviews help certain brands attract more attention than others, lead to higher conversion rates and play a role in page rankings as far as search algorithms are concerned.
In fact, a 2013 consumer review hosted by BrightLocal found that 79% of consumers trust online reviews as much as they would trust a personal recommendation from a friend or family member and 85% of online consumers claim to read reviews prior to making any purchases or taking part in any business transactions. Important? Absolutely.
Link Building
Yes, link building still matters. No, it’s not going away any time soon according to ‘one of Matt Cutts’ latest videos.
Link building – or, the process of getting your site’s link displayed on external websites to increase online presence in the eyes of search engines – has gotten a bad rep lately. This is mostly due to “illegal” link networks – illegal in the eyes of Google – that allow users to buy and sell back links. However, when done correctly, backlinks can be a search-approved way to increase rankings externally.
To increase backlinks, consider the following techniques:
  • List your site’s link in your social media brand profiles.
  • Submit press releases through PRWeb or other platforms that disperse releases to a wide audience.
  • Use guest posting sparingly. Look for opportunities that relate to your niche and include your link in a natural way inside of the posts you create.
  • Host a webinar, offering the recording on your website. If the material you share is useful and authoritative, you’ll have a better shot at it being shared.
  • Create content that has the potential to be shared. By creating content – that you share on social media sites – that is useful, informative and catchy, you’re more likely to receive attention and a higher number of social shares.
  • Mix up your site description and work slowly. Backlinking should be a process that takes time and patience, not a once and done effort.
Off-page SEO can be just as important as on-page SEO and should be taken seriously. Consider the ideas above when generating an SEO strategy or working with an SEO firm and think about the goals for your business. Are you looking to increase traffic and conversions? If the answer is yes – it should be – then adding off-page SEO efforts could be beneficial.

Twitter Acquires Namo Media for Native Ad Expertise

Twitter gave its mobile advertising division a decided boost Thursday with its purchase of native-ads expert Namo Media.
Although the financial aspects of the deal were not made public, sources told Tech Crunch Twitter shelled out roughly $50 million to acquire the San Francisco-based start-up.
The sources also said most of the eight Namo Media staff members will make the transition to the social media company.

Namo Media will shutter its services and take its knowledge and technology to Twitter’s MoPub platform to “offer our current and future customers a more powerful platform to generate revenue, all while preserving an amazing user experience,” Namo Media said in a statement announcing its purchase.

“We started Namo Media with the belief that mobile banner ads don’t work for users, publishers, or advertisers,” reads a Namo blog post . “We saw native advertising as an opportunity for publishers to create better user experiences, generate higher revenues, and enable more valuable advertising space. We built an advertising solution that lets app developers easily add native advertising to mobile apps.

“It’s because of that philosophy, and through our conversations with the MoPub team at Twitter, that we realized we’d be able to create better solutions together, so we’re making it official by joining the flock!”

The Namo team will be put to work building a native advertising platform for app developers at Twitter. The goal, the Namo blog post said, was to continue to “improve the native ad landscape for all mobile app developers.”

Twitter vice-president of product Kevin Weil said his company is “thrilled” to be adding the start-up to the fold.
He said the acquisition builds upon Twitter’s purchase of MoPub last October, as the micoblogging site looks to “bring native ads to mobile app publishers in order to create a more seamless and less intrusive ad experience for users.”

Master SEO Using Google’s Top Search Tricks

Google has a few tricks up their sleeves, and you probably aren’t using them. If you want to master the game of SEO, you ought to also be an expert searcher. The more you know about how the search engine allows folks to access the content they’re looking for, the more you know about peoples’ search patterns. Put this all together, and you can see how your business measures up.
You wouldn’t go into a job interview without first researching the company you’re interviewing with. Don’t attempt to become an SEO expert without fully understanding the power of Google’s search tool. Let the following well-known and lesser-known tips and tricks propel both your searching prowess and company SEO efforts.

Tip #1: Search Specific Websites
Shocking as it may be, some websites still don’t have search functions. Even some of those with the ability to search lack the aptitude to return relevant results. And hardly any of them are as powerful as Google itself, so why not always rely on the search giant to give you what you’re looking for?
To search only a specific site, rather than the whole web, include search:website.com and then your search terms. For example, here’s what an SEO search on SiteProNews would look like:

search:sitepronews.com SEO
Tip #2: Have Google Suggest Site, Product, and App Alternatives
Say you’re looking for competitors of a given product or service, but you don’t know offhand the actual brand names. Just ask Google – it knows the answers.
This kind of search has three potential options. We’ll use a search for Netflix competitors as an example.
  1. Searching ‘Netflix vs’ will show you lots of comparison products. This search shows results for things like Amazon Prime and Redbox.
  2. better than Netflix - similar to the first query, this option shows write-ups for products deemed better than your selection.
  3. Netflix vs Redbox – shows you tangible results for an actual competitor.
Not only is this handy for searches in general, but you can keep tabs on write-ups regarding your competitors by staying current on these types of searches as they relate to your brand.
Tip #3: Find the People You’re Looking For
Names are tricky things, as they are rarely unique, and often reference actual places and objects. If you’re searching for “Bill Gates” and only want to return images of people, not pics of the actual gates, you’ve got options.
  1. First, try typing in Bill Gates &imgtype=face – then click the images tab, and you should get what you’re after.
  2. You can also click on ‘Search Tools’ then on ‘Type’ to search faces, line art, photos, clip art, line drawings, and animations.
Tip #4: Access Real-Time Results
Say you’re in the middle of a big PR push, and you’re wanting to monitor coverage and results in real-time. You likely already know you can click ‘Search Tools’ then on ‘Any Time’ to select the last 24 hours, week, month, year, etc. – but there’s a nifty search addition to the search URL that will let you customize this all the more.

To get real-time results, add &tbs=qdr to the end of the URL that is created for your query, plus the time frame you’d like to specify. For hours, type h and then the number of hours you’d like to cover (like h3 for 3 hours). For minutes, use n, and seconds, use s. For example, adding &tbs=qdr:h5 to the search query URL string for ‘SiteProNews SEO news’ provides results from the last 5 hours for the query.

Tip #5: All-Around Powerful
Like anything or anyone, sometimes Google just needs a little more of your guidance to give you accurate results. Most of us use quotes to narrow our results, but typing in something like “SEO tips” isn’t always efficient. While that query will eliminate articles that have SEO and tips listed separately but not necessarily in a relevant way, it does only provide results for that exact phrase. You’ll be missing out on important articles that have keywords like “Tips for SEO” and “SEO tricks”.
The solution? Type:

SEO AROUND(2) tips
as your query. This tells Google that you’re after articles that have these two words near each other, but not necessarily in order. You’ll expand your relevant search results significantly without adding in any clutter.

Tip #6: Eliminate Unwanted Words
Finally, to ensure words you don’t want to include are not in your results, use the -word addition. There are lots of ways to use this. Here are some examples:
  1. Say you want to search for Paris, but without references to Paris Hilton. Your query looks like this:
    Paris -hilton
  2. Looking for recipe that excludes a certain ingredient? Use this as an example query:
    recipe:salsa -tomatoes
  3. You can also exclude results from a specific URL, like this:
    Maleficent reviews -rottentomatoes.com
This will show you all movie reviews for Maleficent that aren’t on RottenTomatoes.com.
These search tricks should not only help you narrow you search queries into more relevant results, but they can help you become a more powerful SEO guru too. Dedicate yourself to knowing all you can about Google and its many search tricks and algorithm nuances, and you’ll be all the more adept at winning the game of search results.

How to optimize your Blog post for constant Flow of Traffic

traffic How to optimize your Blog post for constant Flow of Traffic
Blogging isn’t all about writing sweet stories, Blogging isn’t all about keywords but there are some basic principles you need to observe in order to rank high for every post you make, here are some Blogging tips that would help you rank high for every post you make on your Blog.

1) Use of Keywords
Try using keywords for your Blog post and make sure you don’t stuff your Blog with too many keyword for it won’t be readable to users and thus you are breaking Google guidelines , you are then spamming.
Posting for search engine not for visitors could be at first interesting but later regretful.

Practice

Try using your target keyword on your title, and use subsidiary keywords on post, try bold or italicize some important keyword. You could anchor link some keywords for it also bring ranking to blog in some ways .
keyword is not dead try use them on your post and you would surely agree with me when Google it self wrote” content is the King“.

2) Internal links
Try linking each and every page on your blog in one way or another, if you share a post you try linking where you get the post from(source), especially if your post is about smart phone news and info, try linking where you get the update from.
Doing so would either make your readers thrust you that you share good information or would give you a reciprocal link in future to your blog.

Practice

Linking up pages together, or news together though for some while it would seem useless but it’s reward is coming.
When linking text use anchor keyword, dont link meaning less phrase, e.g Click here, enter here etc.

3) Use page description
This one is very important, if you are a wordpress user all you need do is install the all in one wordpress plugin, and you use the easy description adding pan to add description to your post.

the purpose of this description menu is to tell search engine what a particular page and blog is all about if description is missing in your blog, then search engine would be forced to pick up any page. In a random notion on your blog and thus would appera on your search result, some of which are picked are irrelevant or mere comments.
Practice
If you are using a wordpress blog, then its already easy to you in this case all you need do is to go get the wordpress all in one seo plugin. If your are using Vbulletin forum or Blogger blog, just try you best possible to make sure the meta description Is on every page and post.

4) Permalink
Recent shows that Google just picked up a new category known as the forbiding url, url that flows in too many depth e.g
crest.com/user?=neon+next-page?/forex/trade?=id+new-user?/bestbuymarket/home/wellcome.php
That url won’t be indexed by any search engine, cause of its link structure,no matter what platform you use try your possible best that your site links are in good structure.

Practice

If you are using a wordpress blog, check your parmallink structure, it is advisable to use that which contain yoursitename.com/post-name for it help on keywords some times on related post.

How to set permalinks on wordpress

Go to dashboard>settings>permalinks>post name and click on save changes.

5). Use keyword on every post
Trying using keywords for every post and hook up keywords that don’t only arrest the interest of users but also that of search engine, but this goes with a caution.
Users using Airtel would likely search for Airtel codes for checking data plan and recharge balance, but when you do Google keyword research you would see Airtel ussd codes for data and balance recharge not all users are familiar with ussd codes and when you use that phrase on your or as the title ,search engine would mark you as a spammer. That’s just the trap search engine uses to know those who goes for keyword but not visitors interest.
behold any user who searches for Airtel ussd codes for checking data and recharge balance would see yours with no ussd phrase.

Practice

Don’t stuf your title with keyword, post unique content , don’t repeat a particular keyword over and over again until it makes no sense.

6) Image optimization
If content don bring traffic then image would, imagine you searching for google glass on google image search, when you do so, you would see the site in which that image originates from, and some times user gets to click them and that’s a link to you.

Practice

Image alt tags are very important, try setting up image title and image alt tag, the alt tag helps in most cases when the browser couldn’t load the image, and a text would appear having the name of the image you want to use that didn’t show.
Be unique on using image, if creating images for every post is what you can do best then do it. Create new image, and when you do so leave a water mark of your site on it, change the image name o sitename_image name, so when it gets indexed any one who uses it would automatically link to your blog via the image.

Bonus Tips

In every thing there is, blogging is fun blog like you want to share a real ideal, a real taught and your own perspective of what you think. And lastly blog what you can offer, what you feel that space is missing with out your ideal or taught and you would see if you would not excel in your Bloging career

Tips To Reduce Our Website's Bounce Rate

Websites are mainly designed to represent one's business perspective. It is the best way to represent ‘what you offer', your services, and achievements. As now everyone go through the internet to find their perfect choice, it is more important to focus on business over internet. So companies focusing on web business must have the idea about bounce rate.

The term refers to the percentage of visitors seeing one page and leave without continuing to the website, i.e. visitors are not much interested in seeing the other pages in the same site. This shows the measurement, of effectiveness of a website. People come to your website and does not want to know about your business and go to another link having a different web link. One page's performance and effectiveness get determined by visitors' interest. If a web page has a high percentage of bounce rate then your audiences do not want to view further, and if one page having low percentage of this means it has an effective way to make people visit other pages and look deeper towards all pages. Most importantly, you should concentrate on the landing page so that one audience gets the incentive for exploring other pages and ideas you offer.

It is determined that, the average bounce rate should 50 percent or less. If it’s more than 60 percent, changes are necessary for a website. If it exceeds 80 percent, then there is a serious problem with your website. Some reasons behind the problem might include different factors. Sites made on a single page, design, code, incorrect implementation and user’ behavior are some of them. From these errors, you can learn to improve content quality, message accuracy, and effectiveness. Basically, when one person comes to your site and he/she would not find proper information looking for then he/she choose to exit.

Visitors might think that content is confusing or, misleading. So it is better to leave the site without wasting much time. People having an e-commerce website must consider into this factor because, anything goes wrong means business profit becomes less.
5 Basic SEO Tips For Bloggers! & Prevent Your Website From Google Penalties!
Viewing and researching all history, performance and goals you should track the record. Make quality content for your site, create better blogs, keep maximum retail, service, and focus on the landing page. These are the most important points to watch. With proper analysis and maintenance attract the right visitors (who want to get your product). Multiple landing pages and each having unique content and keywords are very impressive. For branded products, the top position is most required.

Apart from all these ‘attractive meta descriptions’ for search engine users is required because search engine picks keywords and meta descriptions first. The site should change with sensible organization, multiple color contrast adjustments, larger fonts & headlines to make easy reading. Speeding up page loading, and site layout improvement increases performance. All the featured ads distract a visitor, so try to lower them by blocking pop up ads, avoiding multimedia ads self-loading, and choosing static ad rather than the dynamic one. With all these factors improve your website performance and get more business.

Look At The History of Google Updates

There are a lot of Google updates every year. There are between 30 and 60 every year, and those are just the ones that Google publishes in their little timelines. There are probably a lot more that go on where it is not in Google’s interest to tell us about them. Here is a little bit of a history lesson when it comes to Google updating their search engine.

Google Search Updates

There is little history of structure changing

That has been little done over the last few years to change the actual structure of their search engine. One big one was in the year 2010 when they introduced the caffeine index. This is a change that helped to speed up how the index was crawled. It was a needed change as Google keeps growing the amount of websites it has on its index.

The most recent structure update was the Hummingbird update, and this was a change at a fundamental level according to the press conference that Google held. It had no immediate affect beyond a few websites falling from the search engine results pages (SERP) and Google moving and changing a few things. As many understand the update, it is going to allow the search engine to evolve in accordance with what people are searching for and how the web masters are answering the queries of users. It is no longer a simple matter of this keyword shows this, and this keyword shows that.

They change to adapt to the users manipulating the system

A great many of their updates are done in order to stop people manipulating the search engine, and this also counts as making the search engine more user friendly. People manipulate the system so that they rise up to the top of the search engine results pages. With this power there are often people that insert spam sites.

When Google updates it gets rid of these sites from the search engine results. This is how it helps usability, but also makes it a lot harder for people to manipulate the search engine. They then have to go out and find a new way to manipulate the system.

Many of their updates are security updates

This is what a lot of programs have to do these days. Is ii possible to get to the Google data centers via the website? It probably is and there are probably lots of people out there right now trying to hack it. That is why Google keeps on updating its security so frequently.

Most updates are there to improve the user experience

The updates will often remove websites that are spammy (as mentioned above), but the updates often aim to get rid of irrelevant websites. They work to get rid of the websites that do not apply to the search the user is doing. They want people to find the best possible answer as quickly as possible. If people have to search and get to page ten when they want an answer, then they will simply start moving to other search engines to get their answers.

Google tries to make it so that the websites at the top of the result are the absolute best possible results for that user. The sad part is that language is so changeable and so complex that Google cannot possibly know what a person wants through a simple string of words.

What’s more difficult is the fact that as people use Google more they start changing the way they search. They may start by writing in sentences, then after a few months start typing in strings of keywords. Then, after a few more months the user may switch again and start using the Google operators such as quotes or the minus sign. Then, after a few months the user may just type in a keyword or two and wait for the suggestions tool to do the work. There are all these variables and yet Google has to try and keep the results relevant.

Historically, after each big update their profits skyrocket

Google deny this almost every time it happens, and then they release their profits at their year and it turns out that their profits have hit a new high. There is an opinion that Google updates their search engine so often because it forces people to start using Google AdWords and it makes them a lot of money.

There is also a theory that they update their search engine and favor websites with their affiliate advertising (Google Adsense) on so that they make more money. Whether this is true or not is unclear.

Search Engine Optimization: Understanding Your SEO Figures

Your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is all to do with making your website more search engine friendly. When you run analytic programs it is usually to see how your SEO is coming along and how your website is doing regarding traffic numbers and such. Here are a few SEO terms that you may have heard and what they mean.

Unique Visitors

These are the amount of people who have looked at your web page. They are called unique visitors to give you a better idea of how many people actually visited as oppose to how many times the page was visited. It rules out the people who may have come back to your website several times in one day.

RSS Feed Visitors

This is a powerful metric that few people appreciate. If people are signed up to your RSS feed then they are doing so in order to keep up to date with the things you are posting on your website or blog. The fact that they keep coming back means you are doing something right and it is a very good sign for the health of your website if the RSS feed visitor numbers are slowly rising.

Bounce Rate

If people leave your website within three to ten seconds then it is considered a bounce. Sadly, the bounce rate is not a great judge of how bad your website is, as many people open up tabs on search engine results and do not get to your web page within ten seconds. Still, if you have a high bounce rate then something is going very wrong.

Loading Times

The loading time will affect your website SEO in a big way. Improving the loading time can see you shift a few places up the search engine results in a fairly short space of time. The loading time is measured from the initial render to the point where every element on the web page has been loaded up.

At the moment the render time is not measured and is not part of the Google SEO factor. However, there is a chance that in the future Google is going to find a way of measuring your render times. In anticipation of this you may want to find a way to lower your render times, such as putting the CSS3 as an external resource, but calling to it very early in the loading process (i.e. putting it near the top of page full of code).

Broken Links

If you have a lot of broken links then Google does not like it. If you have a lot of broken links within your website then Google gets very snippy about it. If you have a lot of broken links from other websites then Google may start to suspect that you have been spamming or doing some other form of black-hat SEO.

Followed Backlinks

The backlinks for your website come from other websites (other domains). If they are followed then Google will index them and they will help your SEO so that your website goes a little further up the search engine results pages. All HTML links are automatically followed unless they are programmed otherwise for whatever reason.

No-Follow Backlinks

It is possible to add a tag to a backlink so that Google will not read it. It still works as a backlink for direct traffic but you will get no SEO benefit from it. When you see no follow links on your reports you need not worry. They are not bad things--in fact it is a good thing to have a lot of them. It is just that they are not adding to your SEO, and that is the main motivator behind people wanting followed links (because they want that search engine benefit).

Where is Your Traffic Coming From?

You can use analytic programs to see where the traffic for your website and for your blog is coming from. You can see if it is coming from other websites of the same nature, from directories, from search engines, from social media, etc. Knowing this may help you craft your next online marketing move.

For example, if you are getting a lot of traffic from search engines then it is a good idea to maintain that, but it may also be a good idea to start branching out into newer areas too. This has two benefits and the first is that you get more traffic on top of what you are getting now. The second benefit is that if you are ever suddenly knocked down the search engine results then you are not going to suffer as badly. These are just a few reasons why it is important to see where your traffic is coming from.

Organic SEO vs Google AdWords: Which one should you go for?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is about making your website more search engine friendly. Organic SEO is a little misleading in this case. Most people do not realize that organic SEO means simply creating optimized pages and letting nature (online intercourse) do the rest. Most people think that organic SEO means running and maintaining yours on and off page SEO on a full time basis, and that is what this article assumes it means too.

seo vs google adwords

In essence you should go for both

This is truer than the fact that Snow White had neck ache from always looking down. You should essentially go for SEO and ranking up your website, and you should go for Google AdWords. The trouble is that Google AdWords is not a long term solution for most people, but that does not mean it cannot be. There are quite a few people who have a self sustaining Google AdWords account.

Google wants you on Google AdWords

This is truer than the fact that Doc from Snow White was sent to prison for practicing medicine without a license. Every time Google creates an update their profits soar and this is for two reasons. The first is because websites with Google Adsense on them seem to mysteriously rank up, and the second is because people fall from the Search Engine results and have to start paying for Google AdWords adverts if they want traffic.

Organic SEO takes a lot of time

This is truer than the fact that Sneezy misunderstood the term diamond dust and had a mishap with a rolled up twenty. It takes a long time to get your SEO off the ground and a very long time to organically get your website ranked up the search engine results. This is mainly because there is so much competition that you are fighting against hundreds of thousands of other websites, many of which are not actually direct competitors to your business but are competitors for the keywords you are using.

Google AdWords can get you traffic within two minutes

This is truer than the lewd statements Bashful’s wife made at the divorce hearing. If you create an advert with Google AdWords and you know your stuff such as the right keywords to choose and such, then you may potentially get traffic within the first two minutes of posting your advert.

Organic SEO can be expensive

This is truer than the fact that Grumpy left his wife Moody for her hotter sister Moany. It is not supposed to be expensive to use SEO because you have no direct overhead in the strictest sense. But, if you add up all the productive hours you are going to use in order to do your SEO then you are making quite a loss. Imagine if you were paying a member of staff to do your SEO for you.

Do not forget that direct links are the same as adverts on other people’s websites

This is truer than the fact that Sleepy was frequently seen in the company of Paris Hilton after dark. They are basically a way for people to get to your website without clicking an advert. Adding direct links to other websites is always going to be helpful to your traffic figures, whereas not every affiliate advertising you make is going to be helpful.

Google AdWords will get you a lot of coverage

This is truer than the fact the evil witch could have bought a gun at Wal-Mart for $200 and saved herself a lot of trouble. Google is the biggest and most popular search engine in the world, and so you are going to get a lot of coverage when you use Google AdWords because lots of people use it and your adverts are going to appear on a lot of affiliate websites. You will probably be forced to use Google AdWords in the end because they hold all the cards. Lie down with the devil till you have learnt his tricks--in other words, why not use Google AdWords until you have ranked up your website through the search engine results pages.

Google AdWords can be more expensive in the long run

This is truer than the fact that Happy turned out to be mentally unhinged. It is expensive because if you add up all the money you spent on paying for clicks then over time it is bound to come to a lot of money. On the other hand, if you are ranked highly on a search engine then the traffic you are getting (no matter how much) is essentially coming to you for free when compared with paying for it via Google AdWords.
